Giselle is a very kind and compassionate human being. If I could have had her as my nurse every day, I would have been honored.
Upon my first admission after my surgery, I was so terrified and anxious until I met Giselle; she was so efficient, kind, and compassionate. Her soft-spoken words helped me with my anxiety, but to see her dedication, I knew at that very moment that she took nursing not as a job but as a commitment to caring and healing.
The next day, when she returned, she immediately came to my room to see if I was feeling better, and when she walked into the room, I was elated to see her. So much so that I was eager to go for my first morning walk with her, and she encouraged me every step of the way. Every day before my discharge, whether she was assigned to my section or not, she would visit me even when she was the charge nurse. She always came to make sure I was ok, and if I needed her, I could always let someone know to reach out to her.
If I was on the north side and she was on the south side, she made a point of walking in that direction just to say hi because that is what she did.
Upon my discharge, I had to be readmitted, and rest assured she found me and came to make sure if I needed anything she was available. The most important thing she did was allow me to trust her because of the way she took care of me.
