Although Gladys has only been a nurse for two years herself, she is an excellent charge nurse and floor nurse. She never sits down before asking everyone if they need help. She is always available for questions and never makes her coworkers or patients feel like they are an inconvenience no matter how busy she may be. She maintains a positive attitude even when the floor is incredibly short staffed. I always look forward to working with Gladys because I know I will have support and assistance whenever needed. Gladys is always willing to assess a patient and give a second opinion when a nurse is unsure. If a nurse is unavailable and a patient calls, Gladys is quick to respond and check on a patient. Gladys demonstrates excellent nursing care through her willingness to assist her coworkers, a can-do attitude no matter what the staffing cercumstances are, and a calm approach to every situation. She also demontraates her commitment to excellence through her willingness to work extra shifts when possible and sharing new research findings regarding chemotherapy and other work related research with her coworkers. Gladys goes beyond her duty and deserves to be recognized for her excellent patient care and team work.
