I was admitted for labor and delivery. It was decided that I needed a C-Section due to my baby going into distress. After my C-Section, I threw up due to the pain medication I was given, and unbeknownst to the staff, even though I voiced my concern, I was hemorrhaging internally. My baby was taken to NICU, and I was taken to post-op care.

While there, Glenda was assigned as my nurse and saw how profusely I was sweating, and I kept going in and out. She gave me a sponge bath and changed my gown. It was approaching the time when the day nurses and night nurses switch shifts, and she was getting ready to leave, but she said she felt like someone was tapping on her shoulder to check my blood pressure before leaving because the night shift nurse might not be in my room for another hour. Upon checking, she saw my blood pressure dropped to 54/40, and I was essentially dying from bleeding internally. The next time I woke up, my room was filled with doctors and nurses, everyone trying to figure out what was wrong with me. Eventually, due to a CT scan, they saw all the blood clots that were infiltrating my organs, and I received emergency surgery. It's only because of Glenda, my son has a mother, and my fiancé didn't lose me. It's because of her and whoever tapped on her shoulder, that I'm alive. I could never thank her enough.
