Glennda's outstanding care to our patients outshines all of us. As a night shift nurse in our ICU, Glennda takes the time to do thorough assessments and education specific for each patient she cares for. I often find myself taking over during the day for Glennda's patients and every time on every patient regardless of the business of the night, the patients show appreciation for her care, feel well taken care of, have been bathed, are educated on their plan of care, and always their questions and concerns have been addressed. Most mornings, Glennda stays past her shift to finish odds and ends and although we let her know we can take care of most of these things, she insists. Glennda always takes the time to care for our patients first and foremost and her compassion for her patients and her coworkers shows how much she loves being a nurse at BRMC. Because of all these things and more, Glennda DeRousse, without a doubt, deserves the DAISY Award.

I received a get-well card from the hospital that was signed by many of the fine nurses who took care of me during my stay. Thank you. It meant a great deal to me. I also wanted to point out to you the stellar performance of Glennda, my evening nurse in the ICU. She was without a doubt the kindest, most caring, compassionate, and resourceful person I have ever had the pleasure to meet. Even when under stress by what appeared to be a serious emergency with another patient, her calm and cool demeanor was always present and she found ways to make me comfortable during what was the worst time health wise, of my life. She took the time to listen to a problem I had and handled the delicate affair with compassion and professionalism. Please express my heartfelt thanks to all your staff, and especially to Glennda, for a job well done.
