Godwin Chukudi is an unsung MICU hero. He has been with Grady for over 5 years and has grown as a hidden gem of MICU. Regardless if he is charging or working as a staff nurse, he never misses an opportunity to help his coworkers by giving a hand or providing critical care nursing education. Many nurses can attest that Godwin is very helpful and they know they will have support if Godwin is working.
I can recall one time I had to complete an MRI and OR called for my patient to go to surgery. I was down in MRI and could not take the patient to OR. Godwin was working the floor that day but managed to find the time to take my patient down to OR.
In another instance, he helped transfer a patient back to bed when I was stuck in the room. Godwin is very humble, and I am sure he does not do it for self-gratification. Godwin truly loves MICU and puts serving his patients first. He embodies the values of Grady and is a true DAISY Nurse.
