It has taken me many years to address my disability from the military. One of the many reasons why is because I didn't want to keep reliving the incident, nor did I want to have a "label" placed onto me. I had a call, regarding my claim, that had me so upset that my medication didn't help at all. I called my psych office and spoke to Grace who was shocked at the treatment I received. In addition, in the mist of my anger, I stated I was homeless. Grace was caught off guard and immediately started providing me resources. Grace also followed up with me regarding the situation including ensuring my health needs are regularly met. Grace is always checking on me, making sure I have eaten and asking where I slept. Grace is my declaration to so many situations. Grace is just a genuine human being who truly cares about you as a person and not just a patient.
