Our daughter K has been unconscious and barely speaking, but when Grace came into the room last night, she changed the whole mood. K smiled and squeezed Grace’s hand.
When we first got to the PICU, we entered the room and saw Grace cleaning our little girl's hair with such attentive care. She made sure to have good-smelling shampoo and braided her hair to keep it out of the way for the test. Grace has gone above and beyond with her care towards K and her parents, and she has reassured us that K is a strong girl and is doing a phenomenal job. Grace spent the free time she did have making a birthday banner and a sign to celebrate K’s birthday while she’s in here. Our daughter K has been unconscious and barely speaking, but when Grace came into the room last night, she changed the whole mood. K smiled and squeezed Grace’s hand. Grace has especially warmed our hearts and we are so appreciative to have the care and nurture that we got from her.

After being transferred from the adult ICU to the PICU Grace was assigned to take care for my daughter. After they made sure she was comfy and set up properly in the bed Grace immediately started to comb through K’s hair. Grace took her time washing and braiding her hair and cleaning her face off to make sure she was presentable. The following night we were fortunate enough to have Grace take care of our child again and even though they were short staffed Grace still provided extraordinary service to my daughter. Grace made sure that she was comfortable and clean the entire time. Grace also took it upon herself to rally the other nurses together because she heard my daughter’s birthday was the following day. Grace and a few others spent their spare time making K a banner as well as other decorations to make sure that she would have the best possible birthday she could. This is by far the best service I’ve ever experienced at a hospital. I think if the other nurses cared the way she did hospital visits, it would be a lot more pleasant. I wish there were words to express how thankful we are for Grace and the others.
