I almost lost my son in a terrible car accident. I had never been to Tupelo before, and the thought of my son being in CCU terrified me. I wasn't sure why they sent him to North Mississippi Medical Center, but after a 2-hour drive to get to him, I found out that it was the closest trauma center. When he was sent to CCU, and he was there for a week, I found two of the kindest and most compassionate people in the name of Greg and Lisa taking care of our son. I was distraught and scared that our son wasn't going to make it. The two of them put us at ease they told my husband and me what they were doing and what they were going to do with him and how he was progressing. I had lots of questions, and they always had an answer for me, they always explained it so we could understand in English terms and not Doctor terms. I knew my son as in good hands, and I knew they loved their job and their patients.
I would have to say the time we spent at NMMC was the worst time of our lives but Greg and Lisa made the time more bearable. I felt like they understood our pain and made sure we knew what was going on. We knew that they were taking great care of him. I just want to thank them both from the bottom of my heart for my son's life, and I can never pay them back but the gratitude that we feel for them and NMMC CCU.
