Haily Lisheron has single-handedly onboarded multiple new nurses for 6E and was at one point the only 6E nurse left standing on my permanent staff. We couldn’t have asked for a better representation of the culture of 6E to help us onboard in her likeness. She has an exceptional dedication to patient well-being and always goes above and beyond the call of duty.

One particular instance exemplifies Haily’s remarkable commitment to patient-centered care. We had a patient going to open heart surgery who was a beloved community figure who annually assumed the role of Santa Claus. Per standard surgical protocols, it was necessary to shave his beard, a signature feature that brought immense joy to countless individuals during the holiday season. Understanding the sentimental value and emotional connection this patient had with his Santa Claus persona, Haily took it upon herself to explore alternative solutions. With great creativity and resourcefulness, Haily worked with the surgical team to develop a plan that allowed Santa to keep his beard intact without compromising the surgical process.

Her compassionate approach not only ensured the physical well-being of the patient but also preserved an essential aspect of his identity that brought joy to the community. Haily embodies the spirit of the culture on 6E. She did this kind gesture all while onboarding a new nurse – setting the tone and expectation of good patient care for those coming behind her.
