We were in the hospital for a routine ASD closure in the heart cath lab. The procedure went well, however that night my daughter went into complete heart block. After a few days of trying to see if her rhythm would go back to normal, she ended up with open heart surgery to take the device out and close her ASD surgically.
Hannah was my daughter's nurse several times throughout our 13-day hospital stay. She would play cards with K, she always wanted to make sure we had everything we needed, was so thorough in everything she did and was just an overall wonderful and caring nurse. She also was there for me when we learned that my daughter would need surgery. She hugged me, cried with me, and was just there for me in a scary situation.
My daughter K loved when Hannah would come in our room and Hannah always brought a smile to her face. Hannah was K's favorite! She even visited her a couple of times when she was in ICU, which meant so much to us but also to K. Hannah exemplifies all the wonderful qualities that a nurse should have! We will always remember her!
