It is because of Hannah's intelligence and attentive care to this patient that he was able to have the outcome he did.
Hannah was the primary nurse for a male patient in the ER who was having chest pain. Although this patient had a previous EKG done that came back negative for a STEMI, Hannah's nurse instinct was telling her that something was wrong. Even though this patient was alert and orientated and not in a critical state, Hannah still accompanied her patient to CT. After leaving CT, she promptly called the ER Tech asking her to meet them in the room for a repeat EKG. This EKG showed the patient was having an active STEMI. Hannah was prompt in initiating the next steps of care to get the patient to the Cath lab. While Zoll pads were going on and clothes were coming off, the patient coded. Hannah remained calm and quickly directed the techs to initiate CPR and call a code blue. After getting pulses back, the patient was intubated, sent to the Cath lab and then to CCU. Hours later the patient was extubated and A&Ox4. It is because of Hannah's intelligence and attentive care to this patient that he was able to have the outcome he did. Hannah has not only showed attentive care to this patient but to all of her patients. Hannah is extremely smart and always shows attention to detail when caring for her patients. The ER department is so lucky to have her as a nurse!
