Hayden is an outstanding example of compassion and caring, not only to her patients but also her coworkers. My mother was hospitalized the day after a fall. All of this was compounded by the fact that she has cancer. The entire team has been wonderful and focused on getting her stronger, but yesterday the complications of cancer came into play and the oncologist ordered additional diagnostic tests.
Hayden went out of her way to keep me informed of what was going on and followed up with doctors to make sure I got information. Hayden treated my mother like she was always the most important person. When the oncologist visited, the news was not good. I told Hayden what was going on and she showed such empathy and concern, not only for my mom but for me as well.
My mom was having a lot of anxiety with the news and Hayden went right to work coordinating with doctors to make her comfortable. I observed Hayden interacting with several coworkers during the day; other nurses, CNAs, therapists, phlebotomists, people who transported mom to her tests, doctors, and custodial staff. She treated every single person with the same caring and respect, always thanking them for what they did to contribute to my mom's care.
