Heather has very high standards of professionalism and has very effective interpersonal skills. She is always empathetic and has a very caring nature.
For the past 18 months since finding out about my brain tumour, Heather has been my named nurse. She is very passionate about what she does and is always reassuring and calming.
I always feel that Heather has time to listen to me even when she is busy and under pressure. Heather has helped us as a family stay positive even when it seemed like there wasn't any light at the end of the tunnel.
She is able to adapt her care to suit the needs of her patients, she demonstrates this in the way that she nurses me as a teenager approaching the end of my paediatric care and also younger children and babies on the ward.
Heather always has a smile on her face and continues to cheer me up on days when I am experiencing pain or feeling down. She has inspired me to give something back as she is a very admirable person and I hope that one day in the future I can go on to also be a paediatric nurse.
