Heather would drop by periodically to lift my spirits, share a story, or make me laugh. It was like a ball of sunshine would come by to just make me feel better.
I was recently admitted to the ER due to an ear infection. The ER can be very lonely and isolating. There were no beds in the hospital available and I was confined to my stretcher for 4 hours at a time. I was having a rough time with the isolation and the boredom. Heather would drop by periodically to lift my spirits, share a story, or make me laugh. It was like a ball of sunshine would come by to just make me feel better.
In a chaotic ER environment, she took the time to bring me comfort and give me somebody to talk to, even for just a few minutes at a time. It made all the difference. At a time when I thought laughing would be impossible when my anxiety and fear were at there their highest, Heather was there to help me chuckle and stay positive. So much of this very scary experience was made all the better by her kindness and compassion.
