Heather was able to assess his situation, report it to the provider, and explain to said provider that what she was seeing was a profound change from his previous condition.
I was taking care of a patient at another facility as the director of nursing when I received a patient who was cared for by Heather. I liked rounding on all the patients in the morning and was able to speak with the patient the following day. I went through the basic introductions and pleasantries, asked which hospital he came from, how his care was at that facility, etc... The patient spoke of a nurse who "saved his life." He had CHF and had retained large amounts of fluids and subsequently started having renal failure after. He was already being monitored closely, but Heather was able to assess his situation, report it to the provider, and explain to said provider that what she was seeing was a profound change from his previous condition. This patient was very, very sick, and the comorbidities kept accumulating. I could see that through his charts. From my facility, he was sent back to the hospital possibly a couple of times, but he did eventually recover to his fullest abilities. He and his wife were not only thankful to the facility I was running at that time but also to Heather Hall, whom they also went and spoke to afterward.
That was one story, but I have heard through so many patients from the hospital talk about the nurse on Tower 2 at YRMC named Heather Hall being the most amazing and caring nurse they have ever come across. It speaks about her character but also her passion for nursing. She strives to be the best nurse and seems to have a strong will to achieve that goal. From what I have seen, she will get there.
