She could have easily sent the call to the labor and delivery, but she didn't. She explained how to finish the process, from clamping the cord, cutting the cord (yay, grandma moment), and ensuring mom and baby were doing well.
A quadriplegic patient was being discharged back to home. She was having to go by ambulance. The prescriptions were sent to her home pharmacy. When Heather was reviewing the medications, pharmacy etc., the patient was concerned that she had no way to get the prescriptions for which she really needed. Heather went to the Provider and stated her concerns. Heather called the prescriptions into the Edmond OP pharmacy. She then went down and picked them up and brought them back to the patient prior to the ambulance arriving.

Heather always takes excellent care of her patients. This day she took care of my family via telephone. Unexpectantly, my daughter-in-law went into labor fast. Two weeks early, first grandbaby. Baby H decided to make his entrance via an unplanned home birth. As I walked into the house, the baby gave his first cry into the world. As the new mom was processing having delivered the baby in the bathtub, the father was holding him out of the water. This new grandma was able to get Heather on the phone. She could have easily sent the call to the labor and delivery, but she didn't. She explained how to finish the process, from clamping the cord, cutting the cord (yay, grandma moment), and ensuring mom and baby were doing well.  Heather was calm and collected. I know how to respiratory, but this was a different role for me. Without Heather, we would have been waiting for fire/rescue for over an hour. She allowed us the skills to properly tend to baby H and his 9lb self without worry. Thank you, Heather.
