Henry joined The Lister Hospital as a Senior Staff Nurse in April 2024 and received a huge number of nominations during his first 6 months with us.
Henry is a very deserving Honoree as the DAISY Award was created to recognise the extraordinary work of nurses who provide exceptional care showing empathy, kindness, and dedication.

"My partner had to have an urgent surgery, and Henry was there throughout the day. He made us feel safe and reassured and brought a lot of light-heartedness and joy to the situation. He answered all of my partner’s questions in detail and was incredibly kind and professional. Henry stood out as a very special and incredibly good person. We are incredibly grateful to him."

He has been very kind and patient and has helped her feel comfortable and relaxed since she arrived, nervous and somewhat anxious about the procedure. My mother doesn't speak any English, but Henry did his best to understand her and also to make her feel comfortable, as if our first language was not a barrier, thank you for your effort Henry, you really made our stay the best it could be. His reaction time to each call was surprisingly fast; he helped us with everything we needed, always making sure that both she and I were comfortable. Thank you for everything."

"Henry was kind, attentive, thoughtful, and put me at ease. I’ve had lots of procedures so bad care can be traumatising! He was efficient and empathetic, responsive, professional ,and intuitive. Funny too. It felt like there was no other patient around even though there are! It was reassuring to see him when he collected me from recovery and he has a warm manner but clearly knows his stuff. And was lovely to my partner too. Thank you so much, Henry."
