Any and every time I either work with or see Hilda at work, I can't help but think that she is an amazing nurse. Patients and family members always go out of their way to say "hi" to her and to thank her for their care. One night that I worked with Hilda will always stand out to me.
On this night we had a Spanish speaking patient that wouldn't stay in bed and was pulling at everything. He was highly disruptive when we tried to settle him into bed for the night. Hilda went to his bedside and sang to him in Spanish. This settled him and made him feel comfortable. He sang along with her and soon fell asleep. The amount of time and care she puts into each patient is amazing and this night was proof of that.
