At 28 weeks, I emergently needed to deliver my daughter due to complications. We spent 67 long days and sleepless nights worrying about our fragile baby. One nurse went above and beyond to care for myself and my husband. Holly Cousins was always a smiling face in the hallway. She offered up many prayers and uplifting words of wisdom. I can think of many days that I was feeling down and in near tears, and Holly always had the right words to say. Holly also made my husband feel comfortable in the NICU. Holly explained things to him in a way that a dad would understand, and she encouraged him to try new things within his comfort zone. Something as simple as picking her up out of the isolette was a new and terrifying experience, yet Holly made him feel at ease and confident that he could do it in my absence. I slept peacefully on the nights Holly was our nurse. I will be forever indebted to her for her expertise and the love and selflessness she showed my family during our stay.
