The Arthur M. Blank Hospital (AMBH) Planning Team, led by nurse leaders Kristen Cranmer, Alison Bolt, and Amanda Grindle, has truly risen beyond the traditional role of nursing to successfully open the doors of Arthur M. Blank Hospital. This team, which is comprised of several clinical nurses, including Kristin Bowman, Linda Leblanc, Megan Sepanksi, and Katie Sorice, worked tirelessly to ensure that our clinical teams were prepared to deliver patient care in the new hospital. As a result of their unwavering support and dedication, our community will benefit from the high-quality nursing care that we know will be provided here for generations to come.

Throughout the project, the AMBH Planning team developed strategic initiatives to support transition and operational planning efforts. To name just a few: This team conducted over 105 tabletop exercises with interdisciplinary stakeholders from multiple departments to ensure the design of the building's workflows would maximize efficiency in the new space.  This painstaking process allowed incorporation of vast personal experience of our providers and nursing staff which will benefit our employees as well as our patients and families. They carefully designed and implemented Dress Rehearsals to ensure the building, technology, and workflows actually functioned as planned.  This included establishing workflows, creating exercises, coordinating logistics, staffing, documentation and ultimately validating workflows while reassessing and altering others for improvement. They meticulously planned every tiny detail related to Move Day, including resource needs, volunteer processes, ambulance strategies, training and literally thousands of other details.  The scale of planning for this one day was awe-inspiring. Due to the efforts of these nurses, they moved 202 patients in under 10 hours using 65 ambulances, 4000 staff and contractors, and 650 employees serving in support roles. And they accomplished this with the partnership of our frontline staff and providers with 0 reported safety events!

Their hard work and perseverance have resulted in a state-of-the-art facility that will provide exceptional care to our patients for years to come. I have had the pleasure of observing their exceptional skills, collaborative approach, professionalism, and commitment to excellence as we have moved through this once-in-a-lifetime project.  I could not be prouder to nominate them for the DAISY Team Award.  This team was tasked with moving all of the departments from Egleston, along with the motility program and inpatient/outpatient Aflac departments from Scottish Rite to the new Arthur M. Blank Hospital. This team was built slowly over several years, but they were able to build an interdisciplinary team that worked very well together. They partnered with teams from across the organization to ensure a comprehensive and safe move of patients from two different hospitals. Each team member was responsible for a different group of departments and move activities. They worked together and with several consultant groups to ensure that each task was completed and done in a timely manner. On move day, they were ultimately responsible for moving 202 patients in under 9.5 hours with zero safety events. This group's impact will be felt for patients in the community for a long time!
