Issaquah hospital was the tip of the spear for COVID-19 in America. Our caregivers, both patient-facing, and non-patient facing, rose to every challenge, every day, for every patient. In a time when there was no playbook for COVID-19 care, Issaquah wrote one that was shared and practiced throughout the Pacific Northwest and beyond. If that wasn't enough, Issaquah Hospital also demonstrated patient outcomes far better than the healthcare norm, including patient mortality. Every department on our campus stepped up to convert patient rooms, monitor entry control, act as safety monitors, clean and disinfect, and partner with front line nurses to support each other and our patients. Our core values of justice, compassion, excellence, dignity, integrity, and safety have been exemplified throughout our hospital without waiver since the beginning of the pandemic. I am honored, humbled, and blessed to work with this team.
