I am a safety sitter and was stationed in the ICU. Ivan was one of the most compassionate, loving, and truly extraordinary nurses I think I have ever been so lucky to work with. The way he interacted with my patient in the ICU, down to the way he interacted with the patient’s family member. He took his time in the room explaining every process clearly. The family member stated that Ivan brought her dad "back to life." The family member was in awe at the extraordinary care that he provided. Not only did he exemplify great teamwork, he checked on me multiple times as a sitter, and checked on the patient multiple times. The patient’s family member expressed concerns about the care at Orlando Health when she first got here and stated she wanted another facility instead. Well, let's just say, after the shift with Ivan, she truly changed her mind.

Ivan is the DEFINITION of the Orlando Health Way. And I think he should 100% be recognized for his exemplary work. I am very honored and proud that I had the opportunity to meet him and work beside him. He is the reason why I want to be a nurse for sure now and the reason why this patient and his family member had a GREAT memorable experience in light of everything that's going on. God bless him!!!!
