The care and compassion Ivy gave reassured us that my mother died comfortably and kept the dignity she deserved, as she was a wonderful, loving, and kind human.
The CVICU can be a stressful place for both patients and their families. In March, Ivy provided care for a patient who was no longer benefiting from medical intervention, and her kindness and advocacy for the best possible care were quickly noticed by the family.
“I am grateful for the little things like a touch on my shoulder, fixing my mother’s bed, positioning her ET tube, and adding towels under her chin because the ETT was poking her” the family says.
Near the end, Ivy’s attention to detail brought the family peace, knowing their family member received the care she deserved.
“There may not have been any more medical intervention that would’ve worked, but the care and compassion Ivy gave reassured us that my mother died comfortably and kept the dignity she deserved as she was a wonderful, loving, and kind human.”
Thank you, Ivy, for providing dignified care to patients and their families.
