My mother was hospitalized for a kidney infection last month. She lives in a local care facility and spent about 5 days at your hospital. My mother enjoys coloring, so I brought her supplies to use during her stay. Many staff members interacted/cared for her but the impression Jack has left on her is remarkable. Not only did he take care of her physical needs, but he also listened. He made her feel heard and understood. She told me that she was coloring when Jack came in to check on her, and she casually mentioned that she wished she had more of this certain yellow shade of colored pencil. She didn’t want a whole new pack, just that one color. Jack talked to her, and they discussed how Hobby Lobby may have some individual colored pencils to purchase. She was excited at the possibility and called me to see if I would have time to stop over there to check. I agreed, but life got busy. I forgot. She was discharged a couple of days later, and she got all settled back into her room at her care facility.

A few days later, my mother returned to her room after an activity to find a small bundle of colored pencils tied together with a string in that particular yellow shade she needed. She was blown away and had a feeling Jack had something to do with it. Turns out, he did.
