Jackie is a joy to work with! She is a constant role model to all of the nurses on the unit; veterans and new grads alike. She is a driven member of the healthcare team, always advocating for the patient even if it means having a difficult conversation with a family member or a member of the medical team. She is a Magnet Champion, a pain resource nurse, a member of the SWAT team, and was the nurse who not only developed, but updates all of the CAPD procedures annually!
There are numerous occasions that Jackie embodied excellence in nursing. One patient comes to mind. The patient was an observation patient for over 3 months. The patient needed supportive care and rehab, but placement could not be found outside of the hospital. While on our unit, with superb coordination of interdisciplinary care, often led by Jackie, the patient made huge advances in mobility, nutrition, and her emotional health. A true success story!
