I have gotten to know and admire Jackie Hale in my three years working here - she has been an advocate for not only the patients but nursing also. She has been very involved in the professional growth of all nurses - and this is not part of her job description.

Innovation - one of the ways she has improved patient care is decreasing the number of steps it takes a nurse to complete a process in her area, she did this by working on a process change and increase the items needed in a packet so the nurses did not have to hunt for items everything was located in one area.

Compassion - She is very passionate about her role and those she comes in contact with each day - she always has a nice thing to say and her smile lights up a room.

Accountability - She follows through with any assignment you give her or is in front of her, her role has changed in the last year from direct care to more of making everything move behind the scene, this is such an important role and takes a level of critical nurse thinking to accomplish, getting the patient in the hospital and into the right bed.

Respect - I first met Jackie as she was leading the professional development of many nurses putting so many hours above and beyond during her own time, because she believes in the hospital and the nurses she works with, and wants to make it a better place for our patients and each other.

Excellence - she does strive to do her best and be the best - both for our patients and for each nurse.
