In the chaos, it was so comforting to me that Jake treated me with human emotions, as well as treating me with pristine medical care.
A woman was seriously ill and having heart troubles. The two staff members who were working with her did an outstanding job keeping everyone calm and keeping the patients safe. In a high-pressure situation, Jacob was an integral part of the team. Anyone who is looking in can tell that his knowledge and empathy guide his nursing care.

During my allergy attack, I remember Jake coming into my room and calming me down. As the anxiety heightened and the medications began to take effect, I began to cry because I was terrified. Jake actually knelt down to meet me at eye level and held my hand. He reassured me that I was going to be okay. I have a fear of needles and blood, so he distracted me with kindness while I was being worked up. In the chaos, I was scared and didn't know where my fiance was, but Jake stayed by my side for comfort until my fiance arrived. In the emergency department, I feel like a nurse being able to stay with a patient for comfort is a huge telling of how compassionate they are. In the chaos, it was so comforting to me that Jake treated me with human emotions, as well as treating me with pristine medical care. As much as I was terrified, Jake providing me with this emotional support during my anaphylaxis helped my treatment go smoother.
