Jade Blanco, RN ~ 6 Tower
When nurses take a “team” approach to their day, it can really make a difference. One of our associates told us about an outstanding member of the 6 Tower team at Oakland Center. This nurse went the extra mile to help his co-worker on a very difficult day.
“Jade Blanco is an outstanding nurse. One day we were down to two nurses and I had an alcohol withdrawal patient going through bad withdrawals. I was unable to leave the patient’s side, so Jade had to take care of all 11 patients by himself and pass all the meds. Also, he had to take the admission; he is a great example of team work and being a team player.”
Jade was presented with his DAISY Award by his manager, Jolly Antony, who was joined by Director Cathy Barwick, President Joe Tasse, and Chief Nursing Officer Connie O’Malley. All of the associates on 6 Tower were happy to join in the celebration in Jade’s honor, and many stated that Jade is “always helping everyone on the unit”.
