Seeing our son fight so hard to breathe was devastating, but JaDoti made us feel at peace every moment she was around.
When my son was just 6 weeks old, he was hospitalized for RSV. From the moment we were admitted JaDoti made sure that we were as comfortable as possible. The unit was packed and we had one of the smallest rooms with a single chair but she went out of her way to make arrangements so that both my husband and I could stay with our son. We had only packed a diaper bag and were worried we didn't have everything we needed to make our son comfortable, so she brought every possible item he needed & reassured us that she would bring us more at a moment's notice.
Our son was having a difficult time sleeping & she suggested we turn on a sleep sound channel on the hospital TV as a sound machine. It was a game changer! On top of that, being a first-time mom was overwhelming in itself, especially while learning the ins and outs of breastfeeding. She thought about my breastfeeding needs before it even crossed my mind and made sure I had access to pumps, freezers, bottles, and more. We were admitted in the middle of the night and had already been in the ER for hours, but before we could even realize we were hungry, she had brought us every single possible snack she could find in the building. We hadn't even dove into the snacks, and she was already running to get us more. Although the care being given was for our son, she made us a priority as well.
We didn't anticipate staying as long as we did, but eventually, we realized we needed to at least shower and get more clothes from home. My husband & I thought about taking shifts but JaDoti was quick to reassure us that there would be plenty of eyes on our baby & that we would be better parents for him by taking a break.
Seeing our son fight so hard to breathe was devastating, but JaDoti made us feel at peace every moment she was around. We were even sad when she had a day off! We mentally could not have survived our stay without JaDoti. She truly went above and beyond for our son and us.
