Being a nurse on the floor and seeing the same people every day allows you to get to know the true person rather than just seeing a uniform. I wanted to nominate James because every time he comes to the floor his smile and attitude are infectious. He comes onto the unit and checks the board to see who has his patient. James knows all the nurses by name and makes a point to build a relationship with each and every one of them. He will even get on the walkie and ask if he can work with the patient if the nurse is busy in another room. While working with his patient he makes it a point to make a personal connection with each of them. Each patient seems like a friend by the end of the session. He pushes them without them even knowing. When he is done working with the patient, he settles them in and informs the nurse what happened throughout the session and they are sitting in the chair, etc. He is such breath of fresh air and he makes a difference to not only the patients but also his fellow coworkers.
