I came in through ER. I was transferred to the 4th floor North. From the very beginning, she showed compassion and sincere concern for my pain, and I was in a lot of pain! Every time she came into my room, her demeanor was the same. She listened to me, consoled me, and never diminished my pain. Everything was on time with her … medication, assistance of any kind. She was also very courteous to both me and my spouse, as well as any hospital staff that she was working with. Her tone was calming and assuring, and she always had a smile. When told that I would need surgery, she answered a lot of my questions, and if she didn’t know the answer, she got with the doctor and found out and then relayed it back to me. When Jamie was in my room and the surgery was being discussed, my spouse became a little emotional. I explained that our daughter was having cancer surgery in two weeks, and this, along with my issues, was very upsetting. Jamie walked around my bed and put her arms around my spouse and consoled her. This showed me that she truly listens and cares about her patients and their families. Hospitals could use more nurses like Jamie. She was A++ in my book.
