I was sitting in triage waiting to be seen when Jamie came and got me and I was able to skip triage; I had come from a Doctor's appointment. I was grateful that she came to get me. I had already been to triage the night before and had been having contractions since midnight. I had been without sleep for two nights, was exhausted, and in pain from contractions for two days.
Jamie swiftly assessed the situation, had me settled in my room, IV in, labs done, and quickly hunted down the anesthesiologist so I could have the epidural done before change of shift. It was all done within an hour, and I was finally able to get some rest before meeting my baby boy the next morning. I really appreciate Jamie advocating for me so I did not have to wait for pain relief till after 7pm (As a RN, I know how change of shift can go!) I am grateful she had the energy and kindness to carry her though her shift so she could help me.
