She went out of her way to make sure I was comfortable, and she was also concerned about the comfort of my family. Through constant communication and an all-around pleasant attitude, she was able to ease my fears. I trusted her completely!
I was in St. Tammany (Parish) Hospital after having food poisoning and was placed in fourth-floor Neuro because it gave me amnesia for a day and a half. I was very sick and weak after this experience and would have died if my sister had not shown up to take me to the ER. It was during this stay that I met Janae’, a nurse on the Neuro floor.
Janae’ is a very bright light of a person who just makes you feel better! She checked on me many times and brought me so much comfort during this awful experience.
I want to say THANK YOU to Janea’ and (urge) her to stay bright like she is because it is so healing for a patient. She is definitely a hard worker and an asset to anyone who recognizes it. She also is well-kept and attractive, and she stays that way all day as well! A thank you to the person who hired her as well!

Janae’ exemplified the qualities of an ideal nurse. She was knowledgeable, competent, helpful, and, above all, cheerful. She was uncanny in her ability to anticipate our needs, often providing what was needed before we even had the opportunity to ask. Her upbeat attitude was contagious, making us feel reassured and confident of a positive outcome. She made a difference!

Janae’ is very into her job as a nurse and is overly dedicated. She learns about her patients and their needs. She gives her all. She’s very into her job and does it to perfection. She always knows what’s going on and what she is doing. She loves helping patients. She strives to be the best. She’s dependable and prompt, and if she tells you she will be back, whatever she needs to be back for. I highly recommend this lady! I have been blessed to have had her.

Janae’ is yet another piece of sunshine that has cared for my husband. Very caring woman with a bright smile who has paid special attention to all of his needs. She has made his stay so much easier for him.

Janae' exceeded my expectations in terms of both her professional understanding and abilities as a nurse. She was able to answer all of our questions and explain everything in a way we could understand. My son has never spent any time in a hospital, so his sudden onset of kidney failure and his PTSD had him confused, afraid, and impatient. She always spoke with him in a professional, caring manner, which helped him gain trust and ensure that he was in good hands. She also addressed all of my concerns and never made me feel as though I was nagging. I am so thankful that she was there for the both of us, as this was emotionally draining for me. Knowing you have a competent nursing team taking care of your loved ones allowed me, as his mother, to nurture and care for my son instead of being on guard and having to monitor his care. I was always updated on his progress.

Janae’ took the time from the beginning to actively listen to me and my concerns. She asked questions about how I was feeling mentally and physically. She advocated for me with the doctors about my pain levels, my needs, and my anxiety. She went out of her way to make sure I was comfortable, and she was also concerned about the comfort of my family. Through constant communication and an all-around pleasant attitude, she was able to ease my fears. I trusted her completely! Instead of treating me like another patient, she treated me as if she were taking care of one of her own family members! This type of commitment exceeds STHS’s mission. She demonstrated her teamwork by prepping me for surgery when this was reported as completed. She did this with a smile and without complaint, even though it had already added to her already very full workload. Her concern for my family was also touching, as my husband was upset as I left for surgery. She gently told him not to be upset and that I would be OK. She was able to calm him and reassure him that I was in good hands with the STHS team. I can’t express how lucky STHS is to have Janae’ on the Neurosurgery team! Her dedication and commitment to her craft is second to none. She sets a very high bar for all nurses to follow! Janae deserves the DAISY Award for her compassion, kindness, understanding, and commitment to her patients. It is obvious that she gives 100% every day! From the bottom of our hearts, thank yo,u Janae’ and STHS!
