Janelle was my nurse during the time I was in the hospital with my new baby. I am convinced she was a Godsend! I was in the hospital for 6 nights after I had our baby because my blood pressure spiked and wouldn't come down. It was a scary few days for me. I so desperately wanted to be home with my other kids and be in my own bed and home, but it wasn't possible for the time being. My beautiful nurse, who was with me each day made it so much more bearable than I could ever have imagined.
As we got to visit during my stay there, we realized how many things we had in common! We both scuba dive, we both were homeschooled growing up, both from bigger families, we love to travel, she loves the Lord and was praying for me every day to be able to come home. I seriously don't think I could have had a better nurse and she made it pleasant as possible for me, always attending to my every need...bringing me water, warm blankets, food, bottles for my baby, and a visit to keep my mind off of what I was missing. We became friends and I hope to continue our friendship and get together soon, not just in the hospital, lol. My blood pressure finally had gotten under control so I could come home almost a week after my daughter was born.
I'm so thankful for her and her caring heart and beautiful, contagious laugh. If more nurses were like her no one would be scared or anxious in the hospitals. The day I was released, she was off for several days after that. It's like God knew to put us together and just in time, and it helped my mental state and well being so much! I appreciate everything she did for me and I'm sure continues to do for others she helps while working too. She is an amazing person, wife, mom, and nurse. This is definitely her calling and I hope she gets recognized for what she does when I'm sure not many see all she really does for people!
