I was with Janis at the 2012 Nursing Seminar on May 9th 2012. We heard a moving inspirational man named Josh Bleill speak. He was a marine whose Hum V ran over a bomb in Iraq. He was in a coma for 5 days, suffering multiple massive injuries including a double amputee. He gave much gratitude and creedance to the positive role nurses played in his extensive rehabilitation. At the end of the seminar, door prizes were rewarded. Janis won a signed book he wrote. She returned to work to relieve her co-workers to attend the p.m. session of seminar. As she was shutting her car door she had a compulsion to grab the book she had won on her passenger side seat. Let's say the spirit moved her.

The same afternoon, she was the circulating nurse in an above-knee amputation. She spent about a half an hour with a patient preoperatively due to the surgeon office delay. She allowed the patient to verbalize his fears, concerns and listen to his questions coping with this loss along with his wife who coincidently were both nurses. Janis provided a kind, compassionate loving heart.

She listened to the divine prodding at the heartstrings to ask permission to show this man the book she had been given. Janis provided comfort to this man and his family in their time of need. It was a spiritual experience for all!
