Jared was thorough, attentive, patient, and kind. My wife responded so well to him, and it was obvious that she trusted him.
My 83 year old wife fell in our home and was brought to BHLR where she had hip surgery. She had complications and was taken to SICU. She had low BP, renal failure, and other problems. She was disoriented, upset, and confused but then Jared Carter came on as her nurse. Jared was thorough, attentive, patient, and kind. My wife responded so well to him, and it was obvious that she trusted him. Jared was her nurse 6 of the 11 days she was in SICU and he spent every minute he was there continually caring for her and his other patient. He was constantly talking to my wife, caring for her, comforting her (and our family), and the only time I ever saw him sit down was to put in orders for his patients. Several days Jared didn't even get lunch for himself until after 4pm and he was working the 6:30a-6:30p shift. Each time my family and I weren't in the room with my wife so she could rest or receive medical care, we were at peace because we felt like leaving her with Jared was like leaving her with a family member. My wife did pass away in SICU and we were heartbroken and devastated BUT we have no doubt that Jared and the doctors and other SICU nurses did everything possible to save her. I have been a patient at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota and many Arkansas hospitals, and I can confidently say she received the best care from Baptist Health and from her amazing nurse, Jared, who was that shining light in one of our darkest times and my family and I will forever be grateful to him for everything he did for her and our family.
