Whenever we work for Jas, she always provides us with a sense of safety both physically and emotionally.
I have been working for Jas for the past 5 years. I have always been amazed by her skills and knowledge. I’ve gotten to know Jas more after I started working as an RN for her. I am going to write some good examples:
Whenever we work for Jas, she always provides us with a sense of safety both physically and emotionally. From the start of our shift to the end, she continuously checks on her staff and offers support, whether for patient care or helping them with procedures. She is always there. She does not wait for us to reach out. She always comes back to check on her staff if they need help.
Jas makes sure that all patients in her unit are getting standard quality patient care. Jas knows how hectic a nurse’s work can be. She’s always the first to come help even when there is an emergency, an RRT, or a code blue. She is always there to support her nurses. As a new nurse, having to deal with GI bleed, blood transfusion reactions, and RRT codes can be nerve-wracking. But, when we know Jas is our leader, we know that her expertise and knowledge will help us through it all.
When we nurses are drowning and are sent more patients, Jas is never afraid to speak up. She always advocates for her staff. She knows all the resources across staffing and makes sure to use those to provide quality patient care.
Jas is a great team leader because she uses her knowledge to drive team resiliency and competency, ensuring her team members are recognized for the work they do. She makes sure that they receive resources for their development.
Whenever Jas is on the floor, we know that we will be provided a setting where compassion is valued, good quality care of patients and their families is preferred, and they are all treated with humanity.
Jas is a leader who, not only speaks up for her staff but also makes sure that all 30 patients on the floor are receiving the care that they need. Jas is truly a good example of a Nurse Leader who not only represents her staff but also makes sure whoever is under her care, is healing and receiving the same love and care.
