Jasmine called the patient, on her day off, to make sure everything went smoothly. He was amazed by her commitment and caring. He told EVERYBODY he saw in the hospital about it.
Every day, Jasmine comes to work with a positive attitude and a lot of laughter. She has the remarkable ability to find joy and humor in every situation; no matter how stressful or absurd. She shares that joy with her teammates and she really connects with her patients. I often hear Jasmine "cutting up" with her patients to make them laugh and smile. Laughter is such great medicine and she has made it a consistent part of her patient care routine.
One patient took extra steps to ensure Jasmine was recognized for the exceptional care she provided. The patient spent 6 days here at North as a patient on the 4th floor. Jasmine was his assigned nurse for 3 of those days. Part of the patient's care plan was to undergo a cardiac catheterization. Unfortunately, Jasmine was scheduled to be off work the day of the procedure, but she promised the patient that she would call to check on him after it was over. Sure enough, Jasmine called the patient, on her day off, to make sure everything went smoothly. He was amazed by her commitment and caring. He told EVERYBODY he saw in the hospital about it. He wrote a High-Five card and asked to speak with the Clinical Director and ADON. He wanted to make absolutely sure that Jasmine was recognized for going above and beyond. He said, "All of your nurses have been great, but if everyone were like Jasmine, this place would be 5 times better. She has really done a lot to make me feel better." Jasmine is a true DAISY Nurse.
