Jason helped me for the first time since my admission several months ago. When the doctors had no ideas on how to help me heal my fistulas. Jason convinced them that he could help me. It has been a long journey with my health, mentally and physically. He has improved my chances of going back to a normal, happy life. His wound care skills are phenomenally successful. Jason is also a great teacher. He has brought in with my permission to observe and practice preparing the parts used to create and apply fistula pouches. Over time, Jason has taught me how to remove, clean, prep, and apply them myself with minimal help from nurses. Jason has given me the confidence, experience, and knowledge to teach my nurses even though I'm the patient. He has also taught me tips on unclogging drain tubes using hot water and gravity. My mother and I have fun conversations with Jason. I feel he truly cares about me. Jason makes me feel proud of my progress with physical training and overcoming hard family problems. He will ask about how my mother is doing with her health. We shared stories about each other's lives, and he gave me advice about any issues that I may have. Jason is not just a nurse; he is a great man and a person that I consider to be my friend.

Jason has played a pivotal role in my son's recovery from a catastrophic illness. Jason has used his in-depth knowledge and skills to heal a failed laparotomy surgery wound, which my son's doctors presumed would require additional surgeries to repair. Jason has acted as an advocate for my son many times to ensure my son has had the appropriate care to heal his extensive wounds. Jason has utilized a wide variety of traditional and outside the box treatments and methods ranging from use of silvadine, to implementation of fistula pouches to wall suction and many other methods. He has reached out to the general surgery team for assistance when necessary. For example, he referred a general surgeon to assist my son with debridement of his severe sacral wound.
