She is passionate about the safety and care of our patients and exemplifies this through her leadership.
Jaspreet is an amazing nurse leader as a mentor for the Senior Surgical Care Program (SSCP). It's a very difficult job for many reasons. She oversees 11 medical centers and 7 SSCP Coordinators. However, the coordinators do not directly report to her, and that, at times, can be challenging. She does an incredible job at truly being a mentor giving advice/suggestions but not behaving in a way that a superior would. Not everyone has the skill to do that. In addition, with 11 medical centers, she regularly interacts with dozens of leaders, each with their own style and opinions when it comes to this program. Jaspreet understands the challenges of rolling out and hardwiring a program of this magnitude. She always knows the right thing to say, has incredible ideas, is well spoken, and is respected not only by our entire team but also by everyone that she interacts with. I often say I want to record what she says so that I can repeat word for word when I have to tackle a challenging situation. She is always accessible and willing to help out, answer questions, provide suggestions, and never complains. She advocates on behalf of the team and strives to do not what is easy but what is best for the team, for the program, for the organization, and most importantly, for our patients. Jaspreet also shows she cares not just that the team does a good job but that each of the team members is doing well individually, both personally and professionally. During 1:1 meetings, she takes the time to ask how we are doing and how are the kids before focusing on discussing work-related matters. I have the utmost respect for her as a leader, as a nurse, as a mother, and as a professional. It is a privilege to work with her day in and day out.
