I transported my wife to the MyMichigan Bay City Health Park ER, after a period of several days of her experiencing significant adverse symptoms after receiving a vaccination. (My wife is an autoimmune disease patient, so her symptoms became significantly concerning to us, prompting our visit to the ER). After registration, we were immediately met by ER Nurse Jaye L. Nurse Jaye immediately impressed us with every aspect of her interaction with us. She was extraordinarily polite, cordial, and professional. My wife has an extensive list of medications and allergies to medications, and Jaye displayed thorough knowledge and proficiency in reviewing all the applicable meds and their respective purposes. My wife has a med port in her upper arm for frequent Rituxan infusions, and Jaye exhibited knowledge about how to access the port, in its atypical location. It has been more common for us (in the past) to encounter nurses who are apprehensive about trying to access the port. Jay did not exhibit any such apprehension. However, when it became more tactically sensible to just use a standard IV, Jaye was faced with the fact that my wife’s blood vessels are extremely challenging for starting standard IVs. With great confidence and skill, Jaye deployed the use of an ultrasound and very quickly and successfully established a viable IV. Throughout my wife’s stay of several hours in the ER, Jaye provided exceptional care and interaction, with very frequent visits to the room to check on any potential new needs my wife might have. Jaye was congenial and upbeat, very clearly displaying a genuine desire to provide exceptional nursing care. And she did exactly that. We were both very impressed and grateful. As patients/clients of MyMichigan Health, my wife and I enthusiastically commend Nurse Jaye L. for being an outstanding representative of your organization and of her profession.
