Jean Downer states that "The decision to become a nurse was an easy one." She remembers growing up in the rural parts of Jamaica watching the midwife care for the sick with such compassion that she decided that she would become a nurse when she grew up. Jean joined the DRH family in 1993 because of its reputation for being a leader in healthcare. She earned her Associates' Degree in Nursing from Wayne Community Community College in 1990. Her colleagues state that every day she comes into work, she carries with her the spirit of compassion, healing and love that she manages to pass on to her patients. She is the nurse who keeps on giving.
