Our father was taken to the emergency room. He was admitted with respiratory distress resulting from his advanced dementia and died several days later under hospice care. The entire staff at Proctor provided outstanding care for my father in his final days, but Jeni Zick provided outstanding medical care while compassionately caring for our entire family during the difficult time of Dad's passing.
Jeni professionally, compassionately and gently cared for Dad, during his time at Proctor. She provided quality medical care, and always treated Dad and our family with the greatest respect. Initially, the family did not understand how serious Dad's condition was, but Jeni explained, repeatedly, in understandable language, his critical situation. She helped us understand that Dad would likely die soon. She helped us understand his condition and to anticipate each stage of his passing. She graciously gave us space to meet privately with family and chaplains, giving us time to absorb the hard information she had to give us. As we stood by Dad in his dying hours, we felt that Jeni was a part of our family and will always remember her loving touch as she cared for Dad and for us.
