Jenna is an outstanding nurse who is always willing to do what is needed and deliver the best care possible. I always appreciate when I get the opportunity to work with her because I know she will take the time to do things correctly and takes responsibility to solve problems and concerns. I recently worked with a patient who lived several hours away. They came in for a procedure, and it became evident sedation would be needed if the procedure was going to happen. When trying to figure out if it could happen or not, Jenna approached the desk and asked what was happening. She wasn't the charge nurse, nor a preop nurse, but she had a few minutes to make sure excellence was provided in this situation. Jenna jumped into action, collaborating with the nurse practitioner to provide the care and medication this patient needed to be successful. Jenna was patient, kind, gentle, and so appropriate with this extremely anxious child and family. She provided care in a safe, non-threatening way!

Jenna makes a huge impact every day in the work that she does. In this specific scenario, I am so grateful for her because, without her, this procedure wouldn't have happened! They would have been cancelled and would have driven a cumulative of about 7 hours only to reschedule and repeat another day! Thankfully, because of Jenna's willingness to step in and offer help, they did not need to do that. Another thing I love about Jenna is how she is honest with kids, but in the most respectful way. Building trust with children in scary and intimidating situations can be very hard. Some children want lots of information, some don't want any information. Jenna has always been very respectful in helping kids understand what is going to happen, without concealing information! She never wants to surprise kids, which is huge when building trust. She is very direct but allows children time to process! Jenna, thanks for all you do to support kiddos through these difficult and challenging things.
