She was so compassionate and really kept us educated and informed on our husband, dad, grandfather, and brother’s prognosis.
It is such a great honor to be able to nominate Jenna for the DAISY Award. Our family was faced with so many difficult decisions relating to death and dying. Of course, when our beloved entered St. Clare, we had hope that he would be able to bounce back and completely heal.
This, of course, was not the case. As our beloved’s cancerous lung and heart issues continued to get worse and his health declined, he was transferred from the wonderful care in the PCU department to the ICU.
Jenna was given the job of working with our beloved. She was so compassionate and really kept us educated and informed on our husband, dad, grandfather, and brother’s prognosis. For some of us, we truly believed he would come back to us. Jenna was so understanding.
Because of some of our different cultural experiences dealing with the dying process, Jenna clearly respected those in the family who didn’t trust nurses and doctors and always questioned their intentions. We appreciate her skills in working with cultural diversity.
Jenna is truly an asset to Virginia Mason Franciscan Health and our community. Our family will be eternally grateful. Thank you, Jenna. May the peace of our Lord be with you always. You are truly an angel on earth.
