Jennifer Doerr is a caring and compassionate nurse who lives out the mission of Avera every day. I could give many examples of individual circumstances in which I feel she should be recognized, but I want to encompass all of the contributions she has made to our team. Jennifer is extremely dedicated to the residents in her care, to the point that many of the residents have asked, "Where is MY nurse?" when not clocked in. Numerous residents have expressed that she does an exceptional job and that they feel the most comfortable knowing that she is working that day. 

I have witnessed and worked alongside Jennifer as she advocates for her residents. Although she may be uncomfortable at times, she doesn't shy away from calling the doctor's clinic directly for clarification in orders, to advocate for further treatment, and/or to ask for different options for care that she thinks may benefit the resident more. Jennifer utilizes all members of the interdisciplinary team to ensure the best outcome for a resident. As a colleague of Jennifer's, she is available for any questions I have and always takes the time to discuss issues that occur and how we can prevent them. She is receptive to constructive feedback and truly gives 100% for the benefit of the residents and the facility. 

Our facility is so blessed to have her as part of our team, as well as Avera as a whole company. Jennifer is the exact nurse Avera wants according to their mission and values.
