On a daily basis, I work with a team of extraordinary nurses. One day in particular, Jenny went above and beyond her duties of a nurse. Jenny was an advocate, an educator, a consoler, and most of all she was Jenny. She is a joy to be around and I have been lucky enough to watch her prosper and grow into the ICU nurse she is today.
Jenny helped family and staff through an incredibly emotional patient loss. She advocated for family meetings and code status discussions. Jenny was able to recognize the signs of a deteriorating patient and let the family know so they could be with the patient as she passed. Jenny stayed in the room until the patient's heart stopped beating. Even after the patient was gone, she cared for the family in such a way I can hardly put into words.
Jenny's compassion for every human soul is astounding. She is a rose that shinesbrightly despite the monsoon rain.
