Let me start by saying, Jennifer Hamm is not a nurse because it's a job, but because it is her vocation. Much of her work goes unseen and unknown to patients and their families because she is an OR nurse, behind the scenes, but I have witnessed her remarkable work. She always smiles and is energetic. She treats every patient, regardless of who they are, with compassion, dignity, and kindness. She can be counted on to always do the right thing for the patient. Her honesty and integrity are beyond reproach.
I have seen Jennifer advocate for the patient even when it could have negative repercussions for her. Jennifer is always prepared and tries to anticipate the needs of the surgeon and the patient. The safety and care of the patient are always foremost in her mind. She checks things and double checks them, and more importantly, she will immediately report an issue even if it involves herself. I cannot say enough good things about Jennifer except that she takes amazing care of me and my patients. Ms. Jennifer Hamm is truly an extraordinary nurse, person, and role model.
