Jennifer developed a special bond with her patient and their family members after caring for them for a few nights in a row. She went out of her way tonight to make them feel special. Jennifer's patient turned 16 today, and Jennifer brought in decorations for the patient and had the night shift staff all sign a birthday card. She decorated the room with balloons and banners. Even though the patient is not awake or alert, with an unknown prognosis. The patient's mother was touched and so appreciative of the gesture.
Jennifer went above and beyond to make her patient and their family feel special, saying she did it because "you only turn 16 once". She is an incredible nurse and will go out of her way for others.
She made a struggling mother feel so special during their daughter's trauma.
