Jennifer was recognized by a patient's daughter who was in town for her Florida beach wedding. While the family was in town, the father experienced an episode of pulmonary edema on the day they were leaving to go back to Texas, and he had to stay in the hospital for several days. The patient's daughter detailed that Jennifer was "so kind and caring".
The daughter shared that her dad coded in the Progressive Care Unit when Jennifer was his nurse. He had to be put on a ventilator and moved to the Cardiovascular ICU. Jennifer visited the CVICU on her days off to check on the patient. The daughter stated that she felt "that was going the extra step to make someone feel cared about."
The mother and daughter of the patient stated that being 600 miles from home and their family and friends had been difficult, but they could not have asked for better care. They stated, "it is amazing what kind words and a smile or even a random hug can do for someone."
